Vancouver

Friday evening, Dana and I headed up to Vancouver. It was startling to be with another person for such an extended period of time. The driver's side window of the mini kept fogging up during our drive. I cracked the window and quickly blamed the rainy weather, but I think both Dana and I knew that it was really due to the fact that I was talking non-stop from moment we departed Seattle.

We spent our Saturday morning driving around Stanley Park and followed up with a visit to the aquarium. I took about a thousand pictures, but tried my best to edit them down for you. Nevertheless, I couldn't resist the fabulous jellyfish pictures. Just consider yourselves lucky -- (assuming you look at them) you are only being subjected to about a third of the photos. Don't worry, when I get home I'll be happy to torture you with the full album.

For the rest of the afternoon, we decided to drive up the coast a bit. It was gross and rainy, but there was still a great view on the 'Sea to Sky Highway' (what a fabulous name!). At this point, Dana got into the game, took my camera and snapped her own roll or two or three of 'film.' Thank god for digital cameras -- if your first shot doesn't come out, I'm sure your 200th will. That's my philosophy anyway! Dana's too apparently.

We had Sunday brunch at Granville Island and, once again, I took advantage of the locale and ordered some regional seafood. The smoked salmon was excellent even if the bagel left something to be desired. Walking around the market afterward, I couldn't resist buying a big thing of lox to bring with me to San Francisco, thinking how much Colby, David and I (et al) would enjoy it on Christmas morning. To make it a true feast, a kind-hearted New Yorker is going to have to Fed Ex me a dozen bagels! Hint, hint...

  1. OK, first the FLW houses in Buffalo, then the General Lee, now BSG exhibit in Seattle? Officially jealous of your trip now!
