Am I missing something, or are they?

Do you know the song from the musical Rent, "Seasons of Love"? It's the one who's lyrics are "Five hundred twenty-five thousand, Six hundred minutes, How do you measure, measure a year?" (Yes, I looked them up.) The Marymount choir used to (and still does?) sing this song and now I just heard it selling 'fine jewelery' for Macy's. Whenever I hear the song, I think of the musical's theme and hear people bemoaning dying young of AIDS. I think it's about appreciating the time you have left... because the singers are dying! Not buying fine jewelery or extolling the end of the school year. Just saying.
