Huh.

While sitting outside in my fake garden/apartment building back alley, writing my previous, ridiculously long post I heard a weird 'thimpthimpthimpthimp-ing' noise. I looked over and a hummingbird was attending to the four flowers that have survived the record cold temperatures. "Huh. I thought they were only in the tropics."

My first instinct was to take a picture, but my camera was inside and I knew moving would scare it off. (This picture is from google images, but the flower is the same!) As it slowly hovered closer to my head, it started to freaked me out and so my second instinct was to swat at it like a fly. Clearly I would make a terrible ornithologist.
