Was it shoplifting?

I hated my gel manicure so much that over the last couple of days I have been slowly peeling it off.  This was the worst thing I could do to my nails; it left them in terrible condition and looking awful.  This morning in CVS I opened a bottle of clear polish, quickly applied a coat to my nails, closed the bottle and put it back on the shelf.  Was it shoplifting? I really didn't need or want the whole bottle...
